111 Pounds of Cocaine Found in Car After K-9 Search on Colorado Interstate

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office reported that 111 pounds of cocaine were recovered during a traffic check on Interstate 70 on Tuesday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, about 9:50 a.m., the Gore Range All Narcotics Interdiction Task Force (GRANITE) stopped a vehicle near mile marker 140 on I-70 for failing to stay in its lane.

Deputies claimed some of the driver’s words prompted concerns about criminal activities, prompting them to call in a K-9. According to the sheriff’s office, the K-9 indicated the presence of drugs, prompting them to examine the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office reported finding 44 individually wrapped bundles of cocaine totaling up to 111 pounds. Scott Douglas Robinson, 34, of Ontario, Canada, is being held on a $1 million bond after being charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, special offender, and conspiracy, according to deputies.
