$1,702 Stimulus Payment Eligibility: How to Check if You Qualify for the April 2025 Payout

The $1,702 stimulus payment, which corresponds to the 2023 Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD), benefits some Alaska residents, giving them a significant economic boost.

The $1,702 payment for this year represents a 30% increase over the previous year and consists of a one-time energy assistance check of $298.17 and a $1,403.83 Permanent Fund dividend.

The Alaska Permanent Fund was established in 1976 with the purpose of managing the state’s oil revenues and ensuring that its benefits reach the population directly.

The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation is responsible for managing these resources, and providing an annual income to eligible residents.

Not only does it support Alaska’s families, but it also serves a key economic function, as the stimulus measures help to boost the economy by increasing consumption and investment.

Who Qualifies for the $1,702 Payment?

Beneficiaries who receive a PFD must:

• Have been a resident of Alaska for the entire calendar year before the date of application and intend to remain an Alaska resident indefinitely at the time of application
• Applicants must have spent at least 72 hours in Alaska within the last 24 months
• The applicant must not have been imprisoned for a felony in the last 12 months, nor for a misdemeanor if he or she has been convicted of more than two offenses since January 1, 1997.

The deadline to apply was April 30. However, there are some exceptions for people with disabilities, or those who are applying for benefits for a deceased person during the application period or if you are a military member who received hostile fire or imminent danger pay during that period, in which case you should contact the Alaska Department of Revenue directly.

Payment Schedule

Requests for 2024 (and prior years) dividends that are in “Eligible-Unpaid” status on April 12, 2025, will be distributed on April 20, 2025.

Dividend claims for 2024 (and prior years) that are in “Eligible-Unpaid” status on April 9, 2025, will be distributed on April 17, 2025.

Dividend requests for 2024 (and previous years) that are in “Eligible-Unpaid” status on May 7, 2025, will be distributed on May 15, 2025.
