2 motorcyclists die in separate Washington state wrecks

A motorcyclist traveling southbound on Interstate 5 north of Vancouver lost control as he tried to exit, crashed and died early Saturday, Washington State Patrol said.

Randel W. Miller, 40, of Battle Ground, died at the scene just before 2 a.m. Saturday after failing to negotiate the off-ramp curve at Washington 502, the patrol said.

Separately, a man who died when his motorcycle collided with a car in Tacoma has been identified by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Andrew Bostwick, 21, of Tacoma, was killed near South 56th Street and South Cheyenne Street, according to a news release. He suffered multiple blunt-force injuries, and his death was ruled an accident.

The Tacoma News Tribune reported that the collision was reported shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday and that the cause was unclear. Tacoma Police Department spokesperson Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune on Friday that the police investigation is ongoing.
