SOUTH LOS ANGELES – Two women were killed early Wednesday morning in South Los Angeles after a suspected DUI crash involving a red-light runner.
The deadly collision occurred at about 12:09 a.m. near the intersection of Normandie Avenue and Century Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities say a northbound Buick Envision driver ran a red light and broadsided a Honda CR-V heading east. The impact forced the Honda into a light pole before it slammed into a nearby gas station.
Both women in the Honda died at the scene. Two other passengers in the vehicle were hospitalized, along with both occupants of the Buick.
It remains unclear whether any arrests have been made.
