Jamal Murray, Trey Lyles, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have all been part of the Canadian pipeline to Kentucky. Now, John Calipari appears to be attempting to keep that pipeline connected, as A.J. Lawson will unofficially visit Kentucky this weekend.

Lawson, a 6-6 shooting guard, is the No. 1 Canadian prospect for the 2019 class. He currently holds offers from Oregon, New Mexico, Tulane, St. Bonaventure, and SMU, but now that Kentucky is in the mix, expect more programs to get involved with his recruitment.

The 6-6 wing currently plays for GTA Prep in Mississauga, Ontario. His unofficial visit to Lexington has perfect timing, as Canadians Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Kentucky) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (Virginia Tech) will take the court in Rupp Arena.

It’s early, but this will be a recruitment to watch moving forward. If Calipari likes what he sees, expect an offer to be extended soon.

For now, check out highlights of Lawson below:
