You’ve found the best burger in all of Iowa! The winner of Iowa’s Best Burger Contest 2025 has been chosen by the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association!
Who Were the 2025 Finalists?
There were ten finalists this year, including:

- Dan’s Road House, Cresco

- Halftime Bar & Grill, Pleasantville

- Lewis & Lewis Hot Shotz Kitchen, Oskaloosa

- Salsa Guy Cafe, Cedar Rapids

- Smash and Grab Burger Co., Knoxville

- The Roadhouse, Orange City


Who is the 2025 Winner?
Happy birthday to Halftime Bar & Grill in Pleasantville, which now has Iowa’s newest BEST BURGER! The DeHeer family owns the restaurant and has been running it for a little over two years. It says in the announcement:
“Halftime Bar & Grill’s menu has nine different kinds of burgers with delicious topping combinations for every taste.” You can choose from a classic Bacon Cheeseburger, a Sriracha Bourbon Burger, an Over-The-Top Beer Cheese Burger, or a Barnyard Argument Burger. The DeHeers have improved the eating experience by giving customers more choices.
It has ham, pepper jack cheese, bacon, sautéed onions, and the restaurant’s spicy house sauce. One of the judges also talks about the Humpback Burger. HERE you can read more about Halftime and their big win.
How did they choose the winner?
The Iowa Beef Industry Council says that the event has two parts every year. People can vote for their best restaurants on the group’s website during the nomination phase, which is the first part. When the time for nominations is over, the top ten places with the most votes are shown.The judges are in charge of the second part of the game. It says on the website:
