Restaurants in New York City are among the very best in the United States.
I believe it is permissible to assert that New York City as a whole is a paradise for foodies. New York is home to a wide variety of dining establishments, ranging from farm-to-table restaurants and neighborhood cafes in New York State to the upscale restaurants in New York City.
Food & Wine went out to “400 chefs, writers, and travel professionals” in order to get recommendations and rankings for the best restaurants around the country for the third annual Food & Wine Global Tastemakers awards by collecting feedback from these individuals.
Food and Wine provides the following information: “These are the spots they loved in their own travels or would recommend to visiting family and friends.” A steakhouse in Miami and a restaurant in Saint Paul, Minnesota, both with a tasting menu that is described as “grandma chic” are included on the list of fifteen restaurants.
On the list are three restaurants located in New York, one of which is located in the Hudson Valley. Penny, a “simple seafood spot” located in the East Village, and The Musket Room, a “Neighborhood Restaurant” located at 265 Elizabeth Street, were both notable establishments that made it onto the list in New York City.
The county of Dutchess is where we concentrate our efforts with regard to the Hudson Valley.
A restaurant in Dutchess County secures the top spot in the United States.
Based on the information and suggestions gathered by Food & Wine, it has been determined that the Stissing House, located in Pine Plains, New York, is also among the top 15 restaurants in the United States of America in the year 2025.
Chef Clare de Boer was awarded the title of Food & Wine’s Best New Chef in 2018. Stissing House is one of the oldest taverns in the United States, going back to the year 1782.
Writers at Food & Wine provide an explanation as to why Stissing House was selected for the top spot:
Pickles, chips, and a cup of broth are some of the basic pleasures that may be found on the menu, which is updated every day. However, the most delicious delights are those that are roasted over a wood fire. For example, dayboat scallops cooked over the coals or a suckling pig that has been crisped up till it crackles.
Stissing House in Pine Plains has been the site of celebrity sightings.
Over the course of the past few years, the Stissing House has been blessed with visitors from all over the world.
Notable figures from the worlds of television and film are among those who will be attending. Several famous people, including Al Roker and Martha Stewart, who both have connections to the Hudson Valley, have been known to stop by the Pine Plains restaurant on more than one occasion.
On Friday and Saturday, Stissing House is open from five o’clock until nine thirty o’clock. They are open till nine o’clock at night on Thursdays, Sundays, and Mondays.
