3 Oregon Ducks named to softball All-American team, another named nation’s top base stealer

Oregon outfielder Kedre Luschar, first baseman Rylee McCoy and pitcher Lyndsey Grein were named NFCA All-Americans and outfielder Kai Luschar received the New Balance/NFCA Golden Shoe Award as the nation’s top base stealer.

Kedre Luschar and McCoy were named second team All-Americans while Grein earned third team honors. They are UO’s first All-Americans since catcher Terra McGowan and second baseman Allee Bunker earned first and second team honors, respectively, in 2023 and the 26th, 27th and 28th overall in program history.

Kedre Luschar leads the Ducks with a .444 average and 61 RBI.

McCoy, who is hitting .399 with 58 RBIs, leads Oregon with a school-record tying 19 home runs and leads all freshmen nationally in slugging percentage (.850).

Grein (29-2, 2.08 ERA) has 222 strikeouts and is second nationally in wins and ranks 11th in both strikeouts per seven innings (9.0) and fewest hits allowed per seven innings (4.56).

Kai Luschar leads Division I with 59 stolen bases on 67 attempts and enters the Women’s College World Series one shy of the Big Ten single-season steals record. With one more stolen base she will become the 15th player in Division I history with 60 steals in a season.

She also leads the Ducks with 82 hits, 63 runs scored, 35 walks and a .517 on-base percentage.

No. 16 seed Oregon (53-8) opens its time at the WCWS against No. 9 seed UCLA on Thursday (6:30 p.m., ESPN2).
