4 Killed in Fiery Crash on Taconic State Parkway, Say Police

The Taconic State Parkway in New York was the scene of a catastrophic collision that resulted in the deaths of four persons. According to the police, the collision occurred when a van jumped the median and collided with a car that was traveling northbound.

On Wednesday evening, a Sprinter van was traveling south along the highway near the town of New Castle, which is located in Westchester County. According to the New York State Police, the van crossed the median and entered the direction of traffic headed north. At first glance, it was not immediately apparent why the vehicle had driven into the other vehicle’s path.

According to the authorities, the van collided with a Honda sedan that was traveling in the passing lane. This caused the Honda sedan to flip over, and it was quickly consumed by flames. According to the police, three individuals who were on board the van were pronounced deceased at the site.

After being transported to the hospital, the driver of the Honda ultimately succumbed to their injuries and passed away. There has been no identification of any of the victims as of yet.

According to the investigations conducted by the police, the individual who was operating the van was taken to Westchester Medical Center and is currently in critical condition.

As of late Wednesday night, the Taconic State Parkway’s northbound lanes were closed near mile marker 9.2, according to the state police. An inquiry is now being conducted.
