’90s punk rocker who charmed Portland stops show, scolds fan on latest tour

Lead vocalist Billie Joe Armstong had had enough of a boisterous fan during Green Day’s Sunday performance at the Hurricane Festival in Schee fen, Germany.

When Armstrong gives someone in the audience the finger, a TikTok video shows him participating in a call-and-response exercise with the audience. Then he removes his instrument, drops the microphone, and lashes out at the fan with some angry comments.

Although the audio doesn’t record what he says, it’s easy to see his lips.He says something like, “You fing better quit it or I’ll beat your ass,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Do you get me?

According to the TikTok caption, the fan had been aiming a water cannon at Armstrong’s face the entire time. Another commenter claims to have been at the festival when security dragged the man out and forced him to leave.

The majority of social media comments backed Armstrong. Oh, Billie Joe. On TikTok, someone wrote, “I’m channeling some really strong boy mom vibes lmao.” He stated that he is a pacifist unless someone has to be hit in the jaw, as noted by AReddituser. Words to live by.

The next stop on Green Day’s European tour is Tons of Rock in Oslo, Norway, tomorrow.

Last September, the band performed for two and a half hours at Providence Park in Portland. Thirty years after its release, they performed the full American Idiot album, a few newer songs, and the entire Dookie album.

A blimp once passed overhead, and fireballs erupted from the stage. The 52-year-old Armstrong led call-and-response sessions with the crowd, urging them again to jump or put their hand in the air until the stadium began to tremble, jumped from boxes, sprinted around the stage, and screamed on his numerous guitars.
