Minivan driver charged in hit-and-run collision with motorcyclist removed ankle monitor, authorities say

The

41-year-old man

accused of

ramming his minivan into a motorcyclist

and driving off on U.S. 26 last month is now accused of violating his pre-trial release agreement by removing his GPS ankle monitor.

On Monday, authorities issued a warrant for the re-arrest of Samir Helio Pazzoto-Filho, who has

been charged with attempted murder

in the May 5 hit-and-run collision between Oregon 217 and Cedar Hills Boulevard.

After his initial arrest last month, Pazzoto-Filho paid $25,000 to be released from jail and was required to be on house arrest and wear an ankle monitor. He also had to live with a responsible third party.

Court documents state that Washington County court officials contacted him on Monday, and he said he could check in with them that afternoon. Later in the evening, court staff got a call from the third party that Pazzoto-Filho was not at home and his ankle monitor was on the couch.

Washington County court officials are now recommending his release be revoked and his bail forfeited.

The motorcyclist was briefly hospitalized but was sent home to recover.
