Portland man arrested after tea shop, residence vandalized

A man accused of vandalizing a property in Southeast Portland and a business in North Portland was taken into custody by police on Tuesday.

Two counts of first-degree criminal mischief, one count of second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of coercion, four counts of manufacturing a destructive device, four counts of possessing a destructive device, one count of fourth-degree assault, and violation of a restraining order are all against Portland resident Kristian Clarida, 37.

The arrest comes after Auntea Ha, a boba tea shop on North Interstate Avenue, reported vandalism. Clarida is accused of throwing a rock through a window the following day after throwing a knife-sharpening stone through the company’s glass door on June 18.

Clarida was also named by detectives as a suspect in the damage of a house in the 8000 block of Southeast 6th Avenue, where he allegedly tossed several unlit Molotov cocktails, or incendiary weapons, and broke windows.

The Multnomah County Detention Center is where he is being held.
