What results from combining the skills of Gretchen Wilson, Taylor Sheridan (co-creator of Yellowstone), Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, and others? The Road is a brand-new music competition television show.
According to CBS press materials, The Road, which will air on Sundays this fall, is like this: These twelve gifted up-and-coming musicians will open for Grammy Award winner Keith Urban in music venues around the United States, offering a high-stakes opportunity to chronicle their musical development and win the big prize. Executive producers Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan, tour manager Gretchen Wilson, and other country music artists (to be announced) join Keith throughout the season. Together with the audience at the live venue, they will decide who moves on to the next city. Only one of these three gifted musicians—singer, composer, and instrumentalist—will win the big prize, which will be revealed later.
