Alleged Florida Child Rapist Enticed 11-year-old Girl Into a Park Bathroom Before Being Caught by Good Samaritans

Before he could stop the heinous assault, a Florida community hunted down and physically assaulted a suspected child rapist who had enticed an 11-year-old girl into a public women’s restroom.

According to video, Antwan Johnson is accused of carrying out the gruesome sexual attack at the Gwen Cherry Park in northwest Miami-Dade County shortly before 7:30 p.m. on July 8, during a juvenile football and cheer practice.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the 18-year-old urged his victim to go to the women’s restroom so he could get toilet paper, but he followed her inside and attacked her instead.

Johnson allegedly pulled the girl’s pants down and sexually assaulted her after dragging her into a restroom stall, covering her mouth, and strangling her.

According to officials, Johnson tried to leave the park after being discovered, but a local woman saw him when she entered the restroom.

Before she cried out and warned many people about the alleged assault, the unnamed woman chased Johnson out of the restroom.

At a youth football and cheerleading practice in Miami’s unincorporated Gladeview neighborhood, the park was packed.

According to the sheriff’s office, locals jumped into action and pursued Johnson down, restraining him until the authorities arrived.

After he assisted in apprehending the accused predator, Mike Santiague told the outlet, “She kind of screamed out for help like, ‘Hey, he just raped this little girl,’ and I was the guy that locked eyes with him and he just took off running.”

He remarked, “I just wanted answers while I was running across the street and chasing him.”

Before deputies arrived, Johnson allegedly barricaded himself in a backyard and was pummeled.

The savior remembered witnessing the distraught young girl trying to describe the attack.

Santiague said, “I couldn’t sleep last night because I know she was crying and she was saying he did all kinds of horrible things to her.” The situation is kind of overwhelming me. Really, I’m just in shock.

Residents who saw Johnson being apprehended were drawn to the unusual commotion.

Velda Thompkins, a local, said, “I saw a crowd of people come from one way and cars come from the other way.” “I can see that the young man was being beaten.”

She went on, “I don’t feel sorry for this young man.”

After being taken to a nearby hospital, the preteen girl’s status was described as stable.

According to the criminal records examined, Johnson was accused of kidnapping, wrongful confinement of a juvenile, and sexual battery on a minor.

The Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center is holding him without bond.

On July 29, 2025, Johnson is expected to appear in court.

If convicted, he might be executed.
