After reportedly spending months spreading awareness about her mother’s and stepfather’s deaths on TikTok, a teenage girl in Georgia is charged with their murders.
According to a news release from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, 17-year-old Sarah Grace Patrick brought herself in on July 8 and is charged with the murders of her mother, Kristin Brock, 41, and stepfather, James Brock, 45.
On February 20, Patrick is accused of killing her mother and stepfather in their Carroll County, Georgia, home.
Ashley Hulsey, the director of communications for Carroll County, stated during a news conference that both parents were discovered dead on February 20 from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Patrick will face adult charges, according to Hulsey. Two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault were the initial charges against her.
“We don’t know what goes through the mind of a child who wants to harm their parents,” Hulsey stated. She is seventeen years old. She has been somewhat independent. She has moved about and lived with several family members.
According to Hulsey, Patrick called 911 herself to report her parents’ injuries.
Investigators have “mountains of evidence” against Patrick in this case, according to the communications director, who would not go into any detail. According to Hulsey, Patrick used the username @sgrace04282 to run a TikTok account.
She posted comments about her parents after their deaths on February 20th, but the TikTok account is no longer active.
Patrick left the comment, “Thank you for spreading awareness,” on one video.
Investigatively speaking, it appears that it was a familiar acquaintance. A TikTok user remarked, “I’m hoping for answers and quick justice.”
“Most definitely was since they knew the house,” said Patrick.
According to Hulsey, the Brocks’ toddler, who is currently without a parent, is the “saddest victim” in this case.
“A mother and a stepfather will never be able to raise their children and the little girl that was in the home,” Hulsey stated.
The investigation was aided by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the FBI.
