There’s a new coach in charge at Lincoln High School.
The Cardinals have hired Kalin Walling as their new boys basketball coach.
Walling finished his high school career in California, but did spend some time as a student at Lincoln High School.
Most recently, Walling was a graduate assistant at Sacramento State for a year. He was also an assistant at UC Santa Cruz for a year.
Prior to helping at the college level, Walling spent 15 years mostly as an assistant coach at multiple schools in Washington and California. He was an assistant coach at Aloha in 2011 as his lone professional stop in Oregon.
The Lincoln boys basketball coaching position was made open when
Heather Seely-Roberts stepped down
at the end of the 2024-25 season.
Seely-Roberts coached at Lincoln for four seasons, leading the Cardinals to a combined 62-46 record and a 40-24 record in Portland Interscholastic League play.
Walling will be taking over a Cardinals team that is looking to rebound. Lincoln went 4-21 in the 2024-25 season, and was tied for seventh in the PIL.
