Florida Woman Who Gave Birth on NYC Subway Found After Months of Being Missing

The brand new mom who gave birth to her daughter on a Manhattan subway Wednesday has been identified as a Florida woman who had been missing since August, according to a report.

Jenny Saint Pierre, 25, was reported missing by her family when she disappeared from her Hallandale Beach home in September, according to the New York Times.

Saint Pierre was last seen by her ex-boyfriend in the Hallandale Beach area on Aug. 5, 2024, and police created a missing persons report a month later.

“Saint Pierre is currently pregnant and may be in need of services that meet the criteria of an endangered person,” the Hallandale Beach police said in the Sept. 12 post.

The expectant mother’s family said she had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and her vanishing was “unusual” amid the excitement surrounding the pregnancy, according to CBS Miami .

Saint Pierre allegedly was angry after an argument with her ex-boyfriend — the man believed to be the father of the baby — before storming off, the last time anyone saw her.

Saint Pierre’s family said she was five to six months pregnant when she disappeared.

On Wednesday, Saint Pierre went into labor just before noon aboard a southbound W train in Midtown Manhattan.

Video posted to social media captured the moment several straphangers helped Saint Pierre deliver the baby on the train car’s floor.

“Only in NYC!! I just watched a woman give birth on the train..then watched a stranger cut the umbilical cord,” a witness wrote on Instagram.

Stephania Saint Pierre, Jenny’s sister, watched the footage and recognized a pink duffel bag her younger sibling was known to have.

The older Saint Pierre did not know where her pregnant sister was until the now-viral video.

“Oh, my God, look at her little face!” Stephania told the New York Times. “Oh, my God, I am going to cry! That’s my first niece!”

It was not immediately known why Saint Pierre left Florida in the first place, or how long she was living in New York.

Saint Pierre’s mother was happy to learn her daughter was safe and that she was a grandmother.

“I’ve been thinking about my daughter every day, praying every day that she’s OK, that her baby is OK,” Chrismene Saint Pierre told the outlet. “I’m going to sleep good tonight.”

Chrismene Saint Pierre said her daughter would be welcomed home and her family is excited to see her.

Several first responders and an MTA official rushed to the car to find Saint Pierre and her newborn conscious and alert, the transportation agency said

Saint Pierre and her daughter were brought to Bellevue Hospital in “good condition,” NYC Transit president Demetrius Crichlow said.

“We are thrilled that both mother and Baby W are doing well, and look forward to welcoming both of them back aboard for a lifetime of reliable — and hopefully less dramatic — rides,” he added, nicknaming the newborn after the train line she was born on.
