2 Brothers Dead, 2 Critically Injured After Car Falls 30 Feet From I-95 in Philly

Two of four brothers from New Jersey were killed in a tragedy after their vehicle fell off an I-95 flyover in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood, according to investigators.

According to police, at 8:30 p.m. Friday, a Mazda carrying the four brothers veered off I-95 and landed on Castor Avenue beneath it.

Joshua Davis, 22, of Cranbury, and Aaron Davis, 23, of East Windsor, have been identified as the two people who died, according to the Philadelphia Department of Public Health on Monday. According to state police, their two other brothers, 18-year-old Benjamin and Nathaniel of East Windsor, were critically injured in the crash.

The view from above reveals a crack in the guardrail through which the vehicle dropped approximately 20 to 30 feet.

The two rear passengers were thrown from the vehicle and killed as a result of their injuries.

The driver and front passenger were transferred to adjacent hospitals, where they are in severe condition.

Witnesses told police that the Mazda and a Dodge Challenger were speeding down I-95 northbound when the Mazda driver lost control.

It is unclear what prompted the motorist to lose control, although sources believe street racing may have been involved.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a dog riding in the vehicle was ejected and found dead.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is requested to contact Philadelphia Police.
