Police: 6-year-old Killed by Father Before Car Chase Ends in Crash in North Carolina

POLKTON, N.C – An abducted youngster was discovered dead after a police chase ended in an accident in North Carolina on Monday.

According to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, a lady called 911 at 3 a.m. to report that her 6-year-old daughter, Mianna Roach, and her automobile had been taken from her Polkton, North Carolina home.

According to Polkton Police Chief T.W. Hutcheson, Mianna’s father, 27-year-old Michael Roach, entered her mother’s room, declared that he was kidnapping Mianna, and then “brandished a firearm and threatened her.”

Roach also lived at the house.

The Anson County Sheriff’s Department issued a “Be On The Lookout” notice for the vehicle, and five hours later, an officer located it in Wadesboro, North Carolina.

The police began following the vehicle, and after a few minutes, it crashed off Little Creek Road near Old Winfield Road.

Mianna was found shot inside the car and proclaimed dead on the scene. According to police, she may have died many hours before the incident.

Agents reported that Roach, who was driving, received a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital in severe condition.

Investigators suspect Roach murdered Mianna before shooting himself in an apparent suicide attempt.

Polkton Police stated that an Amber Alert was not issued for Mianna because “there was no legal documentation establishing custody.”
