A tragic single-vehicle crash occurred early Thursday morning, March 27, 2025, on Manning Avenue near Highway 99, killing one man.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident occurred about 12:30 a.m. when a driver travelling at high speed lost control, colliding with two raised concrete curbs before becoming airborne and exiting the lane. The vehicle tumbled down an embankment and landed on the roadway below, ejecting the driver and being struck by a passing vehicle.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorist died at the site. The victim’s identification has not yet been officially published pending notification of next of kin.
The incident caused a temporary road closure, with traffic on northbound Highway 99 diverted until reopening before 4 a.m.
The inquiry into the cause of the accident is underway.
