2 Dead, 1 Injured After Apparent Murder-suicide During Parking Lot Takeover in Harris County

HOUSTON – An investigation is ongoing after two persons were killed and another was transported to the hospital in Harris County. Officials say the incident happened in the 14100 block of Northwest Freeway.

Authorities say a Harris County Sheriff’s Office District 5 deputy was stopped in the parking lot and heard gunfire.

The deputy discovered a man in his twenties with a gunshot wound in the back, as well as a man and woman in front of a business, behind two automobiles from an active parking lot takeover.

According to officials, the man and woman were pronounced dead at the site.

The male with the gunshot wound in the back was sent to a local trauma centre and is expected to live.

According to Houston police, it all started when the female victim was with her new boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend walked up. The ex-boyfriend drew a firearm and shot the female victim several times. The ex-boyfriend then chased down the new boyfriend and shot him in the back.

The ex-boyfriend then returned to the scene and shot the woman many times before turning the pistol on himself.
It’s unknown what prompted the shooting.

The victims’ names have yet to be released by police.
