On Monday, The Original Pancake House made the announcement on its Facebook page that it has permanently shuttered its restaurant in Westport, which had only been open for a period of two years.
On its Facebook page, the restaurant expressed its gratitude. “We appreciate the support from our dedicated customers throughout the years,” the eatery wrote.
Beginning in the early years of 2023, the restaurant that was located on 43 Main Street, River Side, Parker Harding Plaza in Westport became the sole establishment of its kind in the state of Connecticut. Customers were able to choose from a wide selection of morning foods, including pancakes, crepes, waffles, oatmeal, and breakfast meats. According to previous news, the Westport location was supposed to open in the beginning of the summer of 2022; however, the process of obtaining permits took significantly longer than anticipated.
Although the franchise store in Connecticut has been closed, the business still maintains a number of franchise locations that are operational, including those in White Plains, New York, and New Jersey. According to the website of the hospitality business, it was established in the year 1953 in the city of Portland, Oregon, with the intention of providing breakfasts of superior quality. At each of the chain’s restaurants, fresh food is prepared on a daily basis using whole ingredients.
There are a number of franchise restaurants that have shut down in recent months, and The Original Pancake House is not the only one. All of TGI Friday’s restaurants were shut down at the beginning of this year.
