A woman from Montgomery has been charged with killing her 1-year-old daughter.
Police said Thursday that 26-year-old Brenika McGhee is charged with capital murder in the death of 4-month-old Zuri McGhee.
Sgt. Tina McGriff said that Montgomery police were called to a home in the 3300 block of Fountain Lane at 6:20 p.m. on April 5.
When the police arrived, Zuri wasn’t moving or responding. When they got her to the hospital, they said she was dead.
McGriff said that the baby’s death was a murder. The reason for death has not been made public.
Early this morning, McGhee was arrested. She is still being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bond.
