Monday Brings Heat and Humidity, Midweek Storm Threat Ahead

Austin: It was mostly gloomy and hot on Sunday, with highs in the 80s. Austin Bergstrom got as high as 84° and Camp Mabry got as high as 85°. Overnight, it will slowly get cooler, with cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. In the Hill Country, a shower or storm is only sometimes possible from the dry line.

Monday will begin cloudy, but by late afternoon and evening, the clouds will be less. It will be hot, between the upper 80s and low 90s.

From the southeast, winds will sometimes gust up to 25 mph. It usually gets up to 83° here.

There will be a chance of rain again on Tuesday because an upper level low will move the dry line farther east. This will let showers and possibly severe weather return to Central Texas.

The Storm Prediction Center has put North Texas on its list of places where bad weather could happen on Wednesday. Central Texas has a low risk of floods.

The weather will stay stormy through next weekend, with scattered showers likely. If you want to know about bad weather, make sure you get the KXAN First Warning Weather app.
