Two Women Killed, Infant in Critical Condition After Car Accident in North Suburb

A Facebook post from the Winnetka Police Department says that there was a major car accident in Cook County on Friday in front of the Indian Hill Country Club.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office said that just after 6 p.m. Friday, a car going south on Church Road in Winnetka hit three people: two women walking and a baby in a stroller.

The office said that one of the women on foot was declared dead at the scene and the other was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Authorities say the baby is in serious condition at a nearby hospital.

The driver and passenger of the car were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The first groups to arrive were the Winnetka Police Department and the Winnetka Fire Department.

Since the accident happened in rural Cook County, Cook County is the one looking into it. The original Facebook post said to stay away from the area because there were a lot of cops there.
