14- and 12-Year-Old Arrested After Stolen Car Chase in Speedway

Indiana — After a police chase that took place early on Saturday morning in Speedway, two minors have been taken into custody.

The pursuit took place on May 3 at approximately 4:30 in the morning, as stated in a complaint filed by the Speedway Police Department. The area is described as being close to Parkwood Drive and Crawfordsville Road; however, the report does not specify whether the pursuit began or finished at that location.

The article does, however, state that a child who was 14 years old and another boy who was 12 years old are accused of stealing a Kia sedan from 2016 and leading law enforcement police on a pursuit. According to the complaint, the pursuit also resulted in damage to a pickup truck that was a 2003 Ford F-150.

Despite the fact that the police report does not include any specific data, it does state that the police have two further suspects, a boy who is 13 years old and another child who is 15 years old. However, it is not apparent what their involvement is in relation to the pursuit. Furthermore, it is stated that a taser was utilized during the event.

The youngster, who is 14 years old, is being charged with a number of offenses, including auto theft, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, kidnapping a person under the age of 14, and kidnapping using a vehicle. All of these charges are preliminary in nature. In addition, he is facing misdemeanor charges for evading law enforcement, fleeing the scene of an accident involving a car that caused property damage, and operating a vehicle without ever having acquired a license.

During this time, the youngster, who is only 12 years old, is being charged with both a misdemeanor and a felony for resisting law enforcement and unauthorized entrance into a vehicle that was used in a criminal act.
