Riverside police and reports from the scene say that five people were stabbed on Monday at a sober living home. One man is in critical condition and a suspect has been arrested.
Riverside Police Officer Ryan Railsback says the stabbing happened just before 4 a.m. in the 3800 block of Fourth Street, near Fairmont Boulevard in downtown Riverside.
The home was called Elmer Day Sober Living in news stories.
Railsback said the suspect lived in the house and is thought to have stabbed five other people who lived there.
All five were taken away in ambulances. Railsback said one was in very bad shape.
The suspect had to stay behind bars before he was arrested. The police officer said he was taken to the hospital.
The probe into the stabbing has shut down the streets near the house.
There was no clear reason for the attack right away. Detectives are looking into a robbery-murder case.
