Aurora Doctor Faces Allegations of Sexually Assaulting 2 Boys

A chiropractor from the suburbs of Aurora will be held until his hearing because he is accused of sexually assaulting two boys who were in his care.

The 46-year-old Murtaza Hameed from Naperville is being charged with criminal sexual assault, five counts of severe criminal sexual assault, and one count of attempted criminal sexual assault in connection with the cases.

The most recent event is said to have happened in January 2025. Authorities say that a 17-year-old boy was sexually attacked at Hameed’s office in Aurora while he was there for treatment.

When the victim’s father got home from work, he told him about the attack. Aurora police were quickly called. What they asked for was given to the DuPage County Children’s Center.

Detective Jennifer Hillgoth from Aurora said the victim was brave in the case.

“That’s a very traumatic and scary thing to go through when you’ve been a victim of a sex crime.” “The fact that they were able to come forward and say that says a lot,” she said. “It takes a lot of courage.”

As the investigation went on, it became clear that a similar event may have happened in 2016 involving a boy who was 16 at the time.

Hameed was arrested and charged with several crimes. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said that the suspect would not be released until his trial.

Berlin said, “A seventeen-year-old boy is said to have gone to Mr. Hameed for chiropractic care but instead of getting the care he needed, he was sexually abused.” “DuPage County will not stand for this kind of very disturbing behavior. It will be met with the full force of the law.” I think it was brave of the young victim to say what he thought happened to him.

Hillgoth said that the alleged assaults break the sacred bond that lies between a doctor and their patient.

“We trust these providers to take good care of us, and we trust them with our children,” she stated. This is very sad and should not have happened.

The Aurora Police Department and the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office want anyone who knows more about this case or thinks they may have been a victim to call Hillgoth at 630-256-5554.

“If there’s any other victims , whether you’re an adult now or you’re a parent whose child may have been victimized in the same manner, it’s very important that you reach out and let us know,” she stated. “We’re here to support you.”

The next time Hameed will be in court is on June 2.
