Young Girl Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in Springfield

On Monday in Springfield, Massachusetts, a car hit and killed a child.

The girl, whose age wasn’t given right away, was hit on Newland Street, according to Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh. Around 5 p.m., the cop found out that she had been taken to Baystate Medical Center privately.

Walsh said the child died in the hospital from her wounds.

The Hampden County District Attorney’s Office Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit and Springfield cops are both looking into the crash.

“Everyone who was involved has been found,” Walsh wrote on social media.
