The city of Milwaukee has been engulfed in fog, leading some people on the internet to speculate that a big fire broke out someplace.
The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog alert for coastline cities from Sheboygan to Kenosha, despite the fact that there was no catastrophic fire that happened in the area on May 13.
According to J.J. Wood, a meteorologist working for the weather service office in Sullivan, the fog is coming from Lake Michigan and will move inland until approximately 10 a.m. on May 14. It is possible that it will go as far west as eastern Jefferson County.
“The areas closest to the lake will probably see the fog the longest,” Wood explained to reporters.
It is reasonable to anticipate that visibility will be no more than a quarter mile.
It is the mild and moist air that is flowing over the chilly lake waters that is the cause of the fog conditions. “This is something that we typically observe in the spring,” Wood added.
