AJ Rose Returning to Kentucky for Final Season of Eligibility

Kentucky running back AJ Rose announced he is returning to Kentucky for his final season of eligibility.

Rose, a redshirt junior, could have left for the NFL or transferred for his final season of collegiate eligibility. However, he has decided to stay in Lexington and chase a championship with the Wildcats.

He posted the following message to social media.

“In 2016, I arrived on campus as a freshman ready to be a part of something special at the University of Kentucky. We have definitely changed the program into something special. But we have unfinished business to take care of in 2020.

Many of you have asked what I’m doing next season and although playing in the NFL has always been my dream, I have decided to return for my senior year and help my brothers compete for the East and a SEC championship.

The Big Blue Nation is the best fan base in the country and you’ve always supported me and had my back. Thank you! The best is yet to come.”

Rose finished second on the team in rushing during the 2019 season, totaling 826 yards and six touchdowns.

Rose joins Landon Young and Quinton Bohanna, who both announced last week they will return to Kentucky for their senior seasons.
