All-classification all-state softball: A statewide look at Oregon’s top softball stars

These are Oregon Live’s picks for the top softball players in Oregon, irrespective of classification, for the 2025 high school season.


First team


Catchers

In 103 bat appearances, the Portland State signee and first-team 6A all-state selection hit.424 (1.241 OPS) with seven doubles, six home runs, 30 RBIs, and 24 runs scored. He also stole four bases, had a.976 fielding percentage, and struck out just once.

Catching and pitching for the three-time state champion Prospectors, the two-time 2A/1A player of the year went 12-1 in 15 starts in the circle, striking out 131 in 100.2 innings with a 2.64 ERA, while hitting.450 (1.120 OPS) with 10 doubles, three home runs, 21 RBIs, and 35 runs while striking out once in 115 plate appearances.


First baseman

Before switching to first base this spring, Harper was a two-time 4A all-state outfielder. After hitting.463 (1.384 OPS) with seven doubles, the Skyline Conference player of the year led the team in a number of offensive categories, including hits (44), home runs (8), RBIs (39), and runs scored (40).


Infielders

As the Falcons’ leadoff hitter, she hit.598 with 50 runs scored, 20 doubles, five triples, five home runs, 24 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases. The first-team 5A all-state selection has already committed to Santa Clara.

For the state semifinalists, the Cal Poly Humboldt commit put up incredible stats, hitting.462 with 12 doubles, 12 home runs, 61 RBIs, 36 runs scored, and nine stolen bases. The 6A player of the year began the season in the 5-hole but swiftly rose to the 3-spot in the Grizzlies order.

The Bushnell signee, who played mostly shortstop but also filled in at catcher and third base and finished the season batting, won 5A player of the year for helping the Ravens to the state championship.17 doubles, three triples, 11 home runs, 53 RBIs, 52 runs scored, and four stolen bases in the field led to 615 (1.852 OPS).938.

During his stellar season with the Cougars, the Western Oregon signee and Oregon West Conference player of the year hit.543 (1.704 OPS) with 18 doubles, 11 home runs, 62 RBIs, and 43 runs scored.


Outfielders

With 11 doubles, three triples, 36 runs scored, 24 RBIs, and nine stolen bases, the first-team 5A all-state selection had a strong season and helped the Colts get to their first state championship.

This spring, the Bowmen’s first-team 6A all-state selection flourished, hitting as they won their first state championship.341 with eight stolen bases, 37 runs scored, four home runs, five triples, six doubles, and 25 RBIs.

Pena, another member of the Apollos’ first team 6A all-state squad, had a breakthrough this season.350 with a school-record 25 victories, seven doubles, four triples, four home runs, 36 RBIs, 31 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases to help them win the Metro League for the first time since 2019.


Pitchers

The 5A pitcher of the year, who had a bulldog mentality and an improved changeup, finished 25-1 with nine shutouts and a 1.30 ERA. Over 162 innings, he struck out 272 batters against just 108 hits and 53 walks while hitting.494 (1.463 OPS) with 10 doubles, seven home runs, and 43 RBIs.

After a rough start to the season, the 6A pitcher of the year finished 16-5 with a 1.97 ERA, striking out 163 batters over 131.1 innings while hitting.322 with seven home runs, 39 RBIs, 25 runs scored, and six stolen bases for the Titans, who advanced to the state quarterfinals.

Sarono-Ramos received first-team all-state recognition by recording a 1.10 ERA over 101.2 innings, giving up just 36 hits and 45 walks while striking out 177. Sarono-Ramos shared time in the circle with senior Destiny Cornwell for the 6A state winner. In addition, she hit.422 (1.180 OPS) with 25 runs scored, 38 RBIs, and seven home runs.


Utility

During the Loggers’ run to their first state championship following consecutive runner-up finishes, the three-time 3A player of the year and Cal Poly commit terrorized opponents by hitting.814 with 26 home runs and 72 RBIs and recording a 1.16 ERA in 120.2 innings pitched, striking out 202 while giving up just 64 hits and 34 walks. She finished her career with a state-record 75 home runs, breaking the state single-season marks for both batting average and home runs.

Coach of the Year

This spring, Moore became the Bowmen’s fourth coach in three seasons. He broke the school record for single-season wins (29-3) and guided the team to their first 6A state championship in their first final appearance.
