Eight felony charges, including sodomy and kidnapping, have been brought against an Aloha man who is suspected of sexually abusing a woman he enticed into his house in the early hours of Monday.
According to court documents, Dru Hendrix has a 15-year history of harassing and sending offensive communications to young women, whom he frequently interacted with through his now-closed Northwest Portland vehicle repair business, Hendrix Motor Company.
Prosecutor Chris Lewman said in a no-bail memo on Wednesday that the case’s facts are the result of a man who has spent his years torturing everyone he meets, especially young ladies.
Prosecutors claim that a 20-year-old woman asked Hendrix for directions to a gas station after becoming disoriented on Southwest Applegate Drive without her phone.
The document claims that after inviting her inside, he attacked her and used his body to prevent any escape. According to the document, Hendrix smoked methamphetamine, attempted to have her inhale it as well, and made her touch her sleeping 83-year-old roommate.
In addition, Hendrix, 58, faces compelling prostitution charges for reportedly sharing pictures of the lady online amid the drug-induced craze.
He was on supervised release at the time of the incident in connection with an escape attempt and check fraud in Columbia County.
He has been ordered to be detained without bail by a judge in Washington County.
Several restraining orders and a stalking conviction resulted from Hendrix sending unwanted nude images of himself to women who visited his repair shop, according to internet reviews, according to prosecutor Lewman.
Lewman said, “The convictions demonstrate a pattern of the defendant being sexually inappropriate and threatening neighbors.”
A request for comment was not immediately answered by Hendrix’s defense lawyer.
