Kentucky landed five-star forward E.J. Montgomery Monday morning and now fans are waiting on 2019 five-star point guard Ashton Hagans. If you’re looking for a double commitment today, you will not get it. However, things are getting close and Kentucky appears to be in the drivers seat.
According to Fletcher Page of the Courier-Journal, Hagans father told him that a commitment will not come today but it could happen soon. It’s also worth noting that his father said this to someone that covers UK.
Kentucky freshman point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is set to announce his NBA Draft decision tonight at 6:45 ET. on SportsCenter. His likely departure, along with the possibility of Hamidou Diallo following him, will leave a spot open in the backcourt next season.
The relationship between Hagans and Kentucky has been heating up ever since John Calipari offered him a scholarship in late March. Don’t be surprised if an announcement comes sometime this week.
A Kentucky class that includes Ashton Hagans, E.J. Montgomery, Tyler Herro, Keldon Johnson, and Immanuel Quickley would be right on the heels of Dukes monster recruiting class.
