Authorities Search for Woman Who Left Hurt Dog in Trash Bag in New Jersey

A woman in New Jersey is being sought by police after she allegedly threw a hurt and undernourished dog into a dumpster in Lindenwold and left it there to die.

A post on social media by the Lindenwold Police Department showed security pictures of a woman they said put a hurt dog in a dumpster at the Belmont Apartments on the 2000 block of White Horse Pike in March.

The police were told about the event by someone who found the animal in a trash bag in one of the dumpsters at the apartment complex and called them.

A small white dog was being held by police. They said it was living but “severely malnourished and was suffering from multiple severe injuries.”

People are looking for the woman in the photos that the cops shared because they think she may have hurt an animal.

One neighbor said, “That person is heartless to do that.” “Why would you hurt a dog like that?” You can just give the dog to a shelter. It was crazy.”

When asked about the animal on Thursday, cops said it was taken to the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center in Blackwood, New Jersey, and had several surgeries there.

But a police officer who talked about the case said the animal did well, got better from its injuries, and was then adopted.
