A Florida woman is now facing seven felony charges for reportedly having sexual relations with a boy she met at a funeral who was not old enough to be there.
Deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ayla Gonzalez Salinas on Monday and she was freed on bond Tuesday. A document seen by WPEC, a nearby CBS affiliate, says Gonzalez Salinas met the accused victim at a funeral in November 2024. They then started talking on social media. After that, the sheriff’s office says that things went badly in the months that followed.
Reports from WPEC say that Gonzalez Salinas’s letters to the boy young turned into sexual contact in December 2024, which happened more than once that month. The affidavit said that the case was reported to the police in January, and they started looking into Gonzalez Salinas.
According to what WPEC reported about the affidavit, Gonzalez Salinas’s text messages with her accused victim made it look like she knew what she was doing was wrong. According to the statement, they talked about the need to “get their story straight.” A story from WPEC said that the two agreed on how many times they would say they met up and that the boy underage would say he was the one who started the sexual contact.
Gonzalez Salinas was finally caught on Monday and charged with seven felonies of lewd or lascivious behavior, specifically battery on a victim aged 12 to 16 with lewd or lascivious behavior. She paid her bond after Wednesday night at midnight.
