Bodies Found in Missouri River Believed to Be Girls Lost During Fishing Trip

Three girls who were last seen last month have been found dead.

WOWT reported that Lah Tray Moo, 18, Laiana Green, 18, and Eh Cress Moo, 11, went missing while fishing on the Missouri River in Omaha, Nebraska, on April 15.

They tried to help the girl who fell into the water, but they all drowned. News reports that a 13-year-old who was with the group and saw the tragedy is sad about the deaths.

After a two-week search, the Omaha Fire Department said on April 30 that “all three girls have been recovered.”

“Our hearts go out to the families and friends of these girls during this very sad time.” In a statement, they said, “The deaths of these young people have touched our whole community, and our hearts will remain with you now and in the days to come.”

On April 26, Tray Moo was found near NP Dodge Park. The search was over after the bodies of Green and Cress Moo were found on April 29.

Nichelle Griffy, Green’s aunt, told that the family was “happy that we have all three girls physically now.”

She said, “We’re sad, but glad we have them now.” “Our community is getting stronger.” What we gain is more the help we give each other.

Before the girls were found this week, the families were helped by people in the community who cooked food for search parties in the area where the girls went missing.

As the families of the victims met along the Missouri River, Griffy told, “We all share the same loss right now, so not even different languages could shine through your heart.”

Chrome Louis, a community advocate, thanks everyone who helped.

He told, “Together we couldn’t have done it without all the prayers, without all the help across the country, without all the people that tuned into the lives, without everyone showing up and community support.”
