Calipari Extends Offer to Four-Star Guard Tyler Herro

With the fall signing period fast approaching, John Calipari has been busy on the recruiting trail making his final pitches to players who will likely decide on a school in the coming weeks.

Today, Calipari extended an offer to four-star guard Tyler Herro, who recently backed out of a commitment to Wisconsin. Evan Daniels of Scout was the first to break the news of the newest player to pick up a Kentucky offer.

Herro, a 6-5 shooting guard from Milwaukee, WI., is ranked a top 40 player nationally. He has a reputation as a shooter but at 6-5, 195lbs; he has the size to score in other ways.

Calipari and assistant Kenny Payne were in attendance to watch Herro work out this afternoon. The two UK coaches watched him and extended the offer in person.

Once he reopened his recruitment, schools like Arizona, Butler, Kansas, and Villanova entered the picture. The four-star guard met with Oregon and Villanova last week.

Herro seems to like Kentucky but it remained to be seen whether Calipari would extend an offer. Now that an offer is on the table, there is a strong possibility he will be a Wildcat soon.
