Calipari: “I told them I failed them but they have also failed each other”

The Kentucky Wildcats and No. 10 Auburn Tigers met for the 111th time tonight, with the win going to Auburn, 76-66.

Kentucky battled and had every opportunity but the wheels fell off after the under 8 media timeout. Kentucky led 57-53 but the Tigers ended the game on a 23-9 run to hand the Wildcats their first four game losing streak since 2009.

Kentucky held Auburn to 36.7 percent shooting but 14 turnovers was too much to overcome for a young team on the road. As a team, Kentucky shot 46.3 percent from the field, including 21.4 percent from the three point line.

Offensively, Kevin Knox led the Wildcats with 19 points and was the only UK player to knock down a three pointer (3-7).  Freshman forward PJ Washington came off the bench to add 13 points and Jarred Vanderbilt led the team in rebounding with 10 boards.
