Detroit will not participate in Bluegrass Showcase

Detroit will not participate in Kentucky’s Bluegrass Showcase to start the 2020-21 season, the school announced in a release Monday night.

Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio reported Monday night that one team might have to back out of the event due to COVID.

This means Brad Calipari won’t be returning to Rupp Arena.

The release added that the two teams will try to reschedule the game.

The positive COVID case for Detroit is a member of the support staff, according to a release. The release states the individual isn’t experiencing symptoms and no players or coaches have tested positive. However, a few members of the team are in isolation due to contact tracing.
