Could Kentucky’s Future Point Guard be on Campus this Weekend?

John Calipari and Kentucky are hosting a big recruiting weekend in Lexington.

Five-star point guard Devin Askew will arrive on campus Saturday for his visit after he finishes up a visit to Memphis for Memphis Madness Thursday night.

Louisville and head coach Chris Mack have been on the recruiting trail for Askew for a long time but John Calipari and the Wildcats have built momentum ahead of his visit to Kentucky this weekend.

In fact, Corey Evans of Rivals believes the Wildcats will land the five-star guard with a decision expected to come sometime before the early signing period beginning in November.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard from Santa Ana, (CA).,  is currently a member of the 2021 class but there is talk of a possible move to the 2020 class. Kentucky already holds the No. 1 spot in the 247 Sports class rankings.

Calipari will look to apply the finishing touches on his recruitment this weekend and it might help that a future Wildcat will be taking a visit with Askew.

On Thursday, Pat Lawless of Prep Circuit reported that Lance Ware, a 2020 Kentucky commit, will begin his official visit to Kentucky on Friday. Ware announced his commitment to Kentucky last month.

If the visit with Askew goes well, things could be looking good for the Wildcats.
