Dick Vitale Says Olivier Sarr’s Paperwork has been Submitted to NCAA

Olivier Sarr’s paperwork has been submitted to the NCAA for the Wake Forest transfer to receive eligibility at Kentucky for the 2020-21 season.

ESPN’s Dick Vitale says John Calipari told him on the phone Saturday night that Kentucky submitted all paperwork for Sarr, and now they will await a decision from the NCAA.

Sarr is seeking immediate eligibility after transferring to Kentucky on May 6. He earned third-team All-ACC honors last season after averaging 13.7 points and 9.0 rebounds for the Demon Deacons.

Vitale has been vocal about his belief that Sarr should receive immediate eligibility at Kentucky after Wake Forest fired head coach Danny Manning earlier this spring. The Demon Deacons hired Steve Forbes from East Tennessee State, and after meeting with the new head coach, Sarr chose to play his final season of college basketball elsewhere.

Now that paperwork has been submitted, Kentucky will wait and see if the 7-foot big man will anchor the paint this season.

Vitale joined Go Big Blue Country last month to discuss Sarr’s eligibility and what it means for Kentucky this season.
