Oregon receiver
Evan Stewart
issued a statement following an offseason injury that could keep him out of most, if not all, of the 2025 season.
The Ducks’ leading returning receiver, Stewart is feared to have torn his patellar tendon, a source with knowledge of the matter confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive.
“Thank you for all the well wishes, I’m on the road to recovery,” Stewart wrote via social media on Saturday. “Don’t put a timeline on me. Following Gods Plan! Thank you for the prayers!~ 7 be back soon!”
The 6-foot, 175-pound Stewart had 48 receptions for 613 yards and five touchdowns in 2024. This fall was to be his final season of college eligibility and it’s unclear if he intends to redshirt and return in 2026.
Stewart missed a significant amount of Oregon’s spring practices, including the spring game, due to an unspecified and unrelated injury.
His injury leaves the Ducks with 10 scholarship receivers, who combined for 28 catches for 267 yards and one touchdown last season at UO and Malik Benson’s 25 catches for 311 yards and one score at Florida State. Among those returning receivers, sixth-year senior Gary Bryant Jr. and fourth-year junior Kyler Kasper are each coming off injuries that shortened their 2024 seasons.
