Dontaie Allen Explodes for Career High 52-Points in Season Opener

Kentucky Signee Dontaie Allen Posted Career Night in Season Opener

Kentucky basketball signee Dontaie Allen made a loud statement in the opening game of his senior basketball season for Pendleton County High School.

Allen, a 6-foot-6 native of Falmouth, Ky., poured in a career-high 52 points in a 76-46 victory vs. Williamstown on Monday. The four-star wing knocked down four three-pointers and 10-of-13 free throw attempts.

As a junior, Allen averaged 31.8 points per game to lead the state in scoring with a total of 1,019 points. Monday nights performance means he’s back to lead the state again and will be a favorite to land the Mr. Basketball honor given to the best player in the state.

Prior to his 52 point performance, Allen’s career high was 51 points. Last week, he became the first in-state player to sign with Kentucky since Dominique Hawkins in 2013.
