Father and Two Toddlers Among Four Dead in Fiery Head-on Collision in Southeast Georgia

JEFF DAVIS COUNTY, Ga. – Four individuals were killed, including two young children, in a violent head-on collision in Southeast Georgia.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, troopers responded to an accident at GA Highway 27 and Eureka Church Road in Jeff Davis County at 7:40 p.m. on Thursday.

Troopers concluded that a Chevrolet Avalanche collided with a tractor-trailer head-on. The collision caused both cars to catch fire.

The driver of the Avalanche, Nicholas Coleman of Hazlehurst, died at the scene, as did his 1- and 2-year-old children.

Jason Goodwin, the driver of the tractor-trailer from Elgin, South Carolina, also perished on the scene.

The incident closed all lanes of GA Highway 27 at Eureka Church Road.
