Fire Erupts at Minnesota Renaissance Festival, Cause Under Investigation

Following the outbreak of a fire at the outdoor site in Shakopee on Thursday, an official with the organisation has stated that the Minnesota Renaissance Festival is expected to continue operating according to its original schedule this summer.

Multiple structures were involved in the incident, according to the Shakopee incident Department, which was called to the scene at approximately six o’clock in the evening. There were approximately twelve fire departments who responded to the fire.

As a result of the absence of a water supply in the region, the firefighters encountered challenges in putting out the firestorm. The majority of the fire had been put out by the time it was eight o’clock.

According to a representative of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, only six of the approximately 300 stalls that were located on the grounds were damaged.

“We love everybody who is reaching out and checking in and cares and wants to know what’s happening,” the spokesperson for Stephanie Whipps stated. “We’re going to be keeping everyone in the loop as we know things.”

The origin of the fire is unknown, and there were no reports of casualties being sustained.

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is slated to take place on two weekends between the dates of August 16 and September 28 in the year 2025.

The fire broke out in the steeple of a church in St. Paul at approximately 5:30 p.m. Lightning may have been the cause of the fire, according to the investigators.
