Fire near Rowena prompts evacuations, I-84 closure

Authorities are asking some residents to evacuate after a

fire broke out Wednesday afternoon

along Interstate 84 near Rowena, and they’re urging drivers to seek alternate routes.

The Wasco County Sheriff’s Office issued a Level 3 (go now) evacuation order around 2:30 p.m. for people living by Rowena River Ferry Road, a stretch of I-84 and U.S. 30 to Discovery Road.
