Five-Star Guard Immanuel Quickley commits to Kentucky

I never thought I would write this, but according to fans, Kentucky basketball needed some recruiting momentum. With the recent trend of five-star recruits committing to Duke, fans suggested John Calipari was losing his touch on the recruiting trail.

Fans can now breathe a sigh of relief, as Immanuel Quickley, the Wildcats No. 1 point guard target, committed to the Wildcats on Friday. The announcement was streamed live on the Facebook page of UNINTERRUPTED, which recorded a mini-documentary featuring the five-star guard.

Quickley visited Kentucky earlier this month and the Wildcats have long been the overwhelming favorite to land him. He is the first commitment for the 2018 class and will likely sign during the early signing period in November.

With Quickley’s commitment, Calipari now has the centerpiece of his 2018 class that he will look to build around. Quickley and fellow UK target, Zion Williamson, who will be on campus this weekend, is rumored to be a package deal. Yesterday, Calipari visited R.J. Barrett, who is the nations No. 1 recruit. Many believe the Wildcats could land Williamson and Barrett prior to the early signing period in November, which would be huge for the 2018 class.
