22 Years Ago Today, UK Rallied in the Second Half to Beat Duke

Big Blue Nation had to suffer through CBS airing the Christian Laettner shot yesterday, but this day belongs to Kentucky fans.

On this day 22 years ago, Kentucky rallied from 17 points down in the final nine minutes to beat Duke in the 1998 Elite Eight.

Scott Padgett’s three-pointer from the top of the key with 39.4 seconds remaining propelled the Cats to the their third consecutive Final Four, where they would claim the programs 7th NCAA title vs. Utah eight days later.
