A man died in a forklift accident Wednesday at the WinCo Distribution Center in Woodburn, police said.
Forklift operator Christopher Ryan De Jesus, 36, of Independence, was killed “when a semi-truck was moved while [De Jesus] was still inside the container,” causing the forklift to fall, Woodburn police said in a statement.
Woodburn police responded to a call from the distribution center at 11:39 a.m. The semi-truck driver, whose name hasn’t been released, remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
Both De Jesus and the semi-truck driver were working for third-party contractors at the distribution center.
